What is the Noorani Qaida?

It is the beginner primer that teaches the Arabic letters, their sounds and how they join, with Tajweed built in. It is where every Quran reader begins, and with us it is taught live and one to one from our Al-Hira Qaida.

Why you start here

  • Letters first, then reading

You learn each Arabic letter, its sound and how letters join, in order, so reading is built on a solid base rather than guesswork.

  • Tajweed from the first lesson

The rules of correct pronunciation are built in from day one, so you read properly the first time and never have to unlearn habits.

What is the Noorani Qaida?

The Noorani Qaida is the beginner primer for reading the Quran. It teaches the Arabic letters one by one: how each looks, the sound it makes, where it comes from in the mouth, and how letters join to form words. Tajweed, the rules of correct pronunciation, is built in from the start, so you learn to read properly the first time rather than unlearning habits later. It is the foundation every Quran reader begins with, whatever their age. With us the Qaida is taught live and one to one, using our own Al-Hira Neo-Noorani Qaida, so a complete beginner can go from not recognizing a single letter to reading real words.

How long does it take to complete the Noorani Qaida online?

On our structured track, an average learner completes the Noorani Qaida in six months or less. That is a guarantee, not a hope, and it holds across ages because every class is one to one and moves at your pace. Your teacher follows a clear plan from the first letter to confident, rule-correct reading, and your progress is tracked with monthly reports so you can see exactly where you stand. Some learners finish sooner, some take a little longer, but the path is the same: steady, structured and measured. Once the Qaida is done, most students continue into our Tajweed course to apply the rules across the whole Quran.

Can a complete beginner, or my young child, start with the Qaida?

Yes, that is exactly who the Qaida is for. Children can start from the age of five, and adults can start from zero with no prior knowledge at all. The very first lessons assume nothing: you begin by recognizing single letters and their sounds. Because the class is one to one, a young child is never rushed to keep up with a group, and an adult is never made to feel behind. In the free demo class the teacher meets you or your child, sees where to begin, and shows you how the Qaida is taught, before you commit to anything.

Do I need to know any Arabic first?

No. The Noorani Qaida starts at the very first Arabic letter and assumes no prior Arabic, so it is built for people who cannot yet read a single word. You do not need to speak Arabic either: the goal at this stage is to read the Quran correctly, letter by letter, with proper pronunciation. Your teacher explains everything in a language you are comfortable with, English, Urdu or Hindi, while the reading itself is in Arabic. Understanding the meaning comes later, in our other courses. For now, the Qaida gives you the reading foundation everything else is built on.

Is it taught online, one to one?

Yes. Every Qaida class is live and one to one on Google Meet, never a group and never a pre-recorded video. That matters, because learning to read the Quran depends on a teacher hearing every letter you say and correcting it in the moment, which a recording cannot do. Your teacher is certified and completes two months of training before their first class. All you need is a phone, tablet or computer with internet, and a quiet corner. Every lesson is logged in our app with attendance and reports, so you, or a parent, can follow the progress after each class.

What book do you use to teach the Qaida?

We teach from our own Al-Hira Neo-Noorani Qaida, a Noorani Qaida we published with built-in Tajweed rules and dictation guides, every rule explained in English and Roman Urdu. It takes the traditional Qaida and makes it clearer and easier for a beginner to follow. You do not have to buy it to start: your teacher will guide you in the demo. If you would like the physical book, you can order it from our Qaida book page. See the Al-Hira Qaida book.

What comes after I finish the Qaida?

Once you can read confidently with correct letters, the natural next step is our Tajweed course, where you apply the rules of recitation across the whole Quran rather than just within the Qaida. After that, our Quran Recitation course builds fluency and beautiful, confident reading of the full Quran. Your teacher will tell you honestly when you are ready to move on, and the same one to one format carries through. See the Tajweed course or the Recitation course.
